After I would meet people in the lobby and ask to photograph them, they would often go to the desk clerks or management and ask what I was about. Often being dreamers with Hollywood goals themselves, they encouraged people to participate in the project. I tried to give a print to every group I photographed that was still in residence, though it took time to process the film and make the darkroom prints, with the text exposed onto the photographic paper.
